పద్యం 6:

అక్కఱకు రాని చుట్టము,
మ్రొక్కిన వరమీని వేల్పు, మొహరమున దా
నెక్కిన బారని గుఱ్ఱము
గ్రుక్కున విడుపంగవలయు గదరా సుమతీ || 1 ||

భావం (తాత్పర్యం) :

అవసరమైన సమయంలో ఆదుకోని బంధువు, ఎంత ప్రార్ధించిన వరము ఇవ్వని దేవుణ్ణి, యుద్ధంలో తాను చెప్పినట్లుగ గాని/పరిగెత్తని గుఱ్ఱమును వెంటనే వదిలెయ్యాలి

In English:

akkaraku rani cuttamu,
mrokkina varamini velpu, moharamuna da
nekkina barani gurramu
grakkuna vidavangavalayu gadara sumati || 1 ||

Meaning of the Poem (Tatparyam):

The relatives who does not support in time of need, God who does not give the offers for all your prayers, and the horse that did not run as you says in the battle, should leave immediately.

పద్యం 7:

అడిగిన జీతం బియ్యని
మిడిమేలపు దొరనుఁ గొల్చి మిడుకుట కంటెన్
వడిగల యెద్దులఁ గట్టుక
మడిదున్నుక బ్రతుకవచ్చు మహిలో సుమతీ || 2 ||

భావం (తాత్పర్యం) :

అడిగిన జీతమీయని ప్రభువుని సేవించి కష్టపడుటకన్న, చుఱుకైన యెద్దులను గట్టుకొని పొలము పండించుకొని జీవించుటయే మేలు.

Meaning of the Poem (Tatparyam):

It's better to live by cultivating the field with active bulls, rather than working hard to serve the Lord, who don't pay the salary.
